Overview
SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, is seeking Welding Inspectors for contract work in multiple locations throughout the USA. The inspectors will ensure compliance with welding codes and standards through inspections and quality document reviews.
Responsibilities
- Perform visual inspections to ensure welds and welding processes comply with codes and specifications.
- Witness and verify non-destructive tests and their reports.
- Monitor welding parameters and inspect materials and equipment.
- Review quality documents including WPS/PQR and issue reports for corrective actions.
- Verify that welders are qualified and that welding procedures are followed.
- Ensure adherence to industry codes and contractual requirements.
- Conduct pre-weld, in-process, and post-weld inspections.
- Perform visual inspections of welded joints for defects.
- Prepare detailed reports documenting inspection results.
Requirements
- Must have at least one of the following: AWS, CWI, CSWIP, API.
- Minimum of five years of industrial welding-related inspection experience.
- Two years of experience in Quality Assurance/vendor surveillance/shop inspections.
- 5-10 years of industry experience, mainly in Oil and Gas.
- Demonstrated knowledge of welding inspections.
- Experience in welding inspections at manufacturer shops/facilities.
- Welding inspection experience of Pipeline, Equipment such as Pressure vessels, Heat exchangers, Pumps is an asset.

Additional Information
- Work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 to 10 hours per day.
- Hourly rate is $40 to $45 per hour plus $0.70/km.
- Per diem may be considered for inspection sites beyond a round trip of 200 miles from residence.
