Overview
The Structural Welder is skilled in various aspects of welding and fabrication, performing specialty welding on materials such as stainless steel and carbon steel while adhering to code-compliant standards. The role includes advanced rigging duties and crane operation when qualified, with a strong emphasis on quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform specialty welding on a variety of materials in different positions.
- Ensure code-compliant welds as required to complete work.
- Conduct rigging duties at an advanced level, including critical lift planning and execution.
- Operate cranes when qualified/trained.
- Read and understand line or equipment drawings.
- Demonstrate knowledge of design techniques, welding equipment, materials, and quality control.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine project specifications.
- Utilize hand and power tools for fabrication and welding tasks.
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on various materials while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to execute construction projects.
Requirements
- Welder coupon test certification(s) for relevant welding procedures.
- Two or more years of Construction or Industry working experience.
- Qualified and capable of passing numerous welding skill level tests.
