Overview

We are seeking Experienced Shipfitters to work in Panama City, FL. The role involves fabricating and assembling metal structural parts for ships, with a focus on welding and fitting tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Lays out and fabricates metal structural parts, such as plates, bulkheads, and frames.
  • Aligns parts in relation to each other using jacks, turnbuckles, clips, wedges, and mauls.
  • Marks location of holes to be drilled and installs temporary fasteners for welding or riveting.
  • Installs packing, gaskets, liners, and structural accessories such as doors and hatches.
  • Prepares molds and templates for fabrication of nonstandard parts.
  • Tack welds clips and brackets in place prior to permanent welding.
  • Rolls, bends, flanges, cuts, and shapes plates, beams, and other heavy metal parts.

Requirements

  • At least 3+ years experience in shipfitting.
  • Capable of operating a grinder and passing a tack welding assessment test.
  • Able to work in Panama City, FL.
  • Willingness to go through a background check and medical screening.
