Overview

The Welding Process Engineer role focuses on analyzing and optimizing weld processes in battery manufacturing. The position is based in Atlanta, GA, and is a contract role lasting 6 months with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize existing weld processes.
• Develop weld parameters and test procedures.
• Ensure weld quality using inspection and test equipment.
• Specify upstream/downstream processes for consistent weld quality.
• Triage issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with design teams to improve manufacturability.
• Lead welding process initiatives and documentation (SOPs/WIs).

Requirements

• 6+ years in high-volume weld process development.
• Experience with laser & Micro-TIG welding.
• Strong knowledge of automated pre-weld and post-weld inspection systems.
• Experience leading projects and writing SOPs.
• Preferred: Experience setting up automated welding lines; AWS welding certifications.
