Overview

We are seeking a skilled Lowboy Trailer operator to join our transportation team. This role involves hauling heavy equipment and freight using lowboy trailers across various routes, requiring experience in commercial driving with a focus on specialized trailers.

Responsibilities

• Operate lowboy trailers for the transportation of heavy machinery, construction equipment, or freight across designated routes.
• Load and unload cargo efficiently and safely, utilizing appropriate tools and techniques.
• Perform routine inspections of trailers and trucks to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and route information.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper securing of loads and compliance with DOT regulations.
• Assist with route planning to optimize delivery schedules and fuel efficiency.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify potential issues before operating the trailer.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during transit.

Requirements

• Proven experience in truck driving, particularly with tractor-trailers or flatbed trucks.
• Familiarity with manual transmission trucks is preferred.
• Experience operating refrigerated trailers, tanker trucks, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, or freight haulers is a plus.
• Delivery driver experience involving load & unload operations is highly desirable.
• Ability to handle freight securely and efficiently on route driving assignments.
• Prior use of forklifts or similar equipment for loading/unloading is advantageous.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for heavy or specialized trailers.
• Knowledge of safety standards related to trucking, including load securement and vehicle maintenance.
