Overview

The Welder position at Waste Management involves fabricating and repairing compactors, containers, and carts under general supervision. The company emphasizes stability, growth opportunities, and a commitment to employee well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Performs minor repairs and applies basic welding processes.
  • Repairs compactors, containers, and carts.
  • Conducts preventive maintenance inspections and diagnostics on electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Qualified in various welding processes including arc, gas, aluminum welding, brazing, and soft soldering.
  • Conducts safety checks on compactors and containers.
  • Completes paperwork using fleet maintenance software for repairs.
  • Assists senior welders with project work.
  • Performs service calls for compactor repair.
  • Engages in flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, and notching of metal and plastic parts.
  • Works from prints, drawings, and verbal instructions.
  • Utilizes standard shop hand tools and measuring devices.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OSHA Standards.

Requirements

  • 2 years of previous experience in welding.
