Overview

KBR is seeking an Advanced Program Support Technician to support the SPACE SUIT DESIGN TEAM within its Science and Space division. The role involves manufacturing, building, testing, and maintaining aerospace flight hardware, primarily focusing on Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU) suits and related components.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing, maintenance, assembly, testing, repair, and processing of hardware to support various events and deliverables.
  • Incorporating engineering changes and performing functional performance testing of EMU components and related hardware.
  • Operating machine equipment including 3D printers, RF welding machines, fabric laser and wheel cutters, and low-pressure air systems.
  • Assisting engineers in locating and diagnosing anomalies and recommending corrective actions.
  • Reading engineering drawings, equipment specifications, and test procedures.
  • Completing specified training to maintain certifications for job functions.
  • Updating job-related databases daily.
  • Adhering to quality and safety requirements.
  • Transporting hardware to various events using a motor vehicle.
  • Communicating daily with technicians, leads, engineers, managers, and customers.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a Class III Physical and various training requirements.
  • Excellent mechanical skills and ability to read and execute detailed technical procedures and engineering drawings.
  • Valid Texas driver's license with a good driving record and ability to operate a government vehicle.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Capacity to work in a team environment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • 5+ years of related experience.
