Airgas is seeking a Repair Technician I in Houston, TX, to restore and maintain engine-driven welding equipment and generators while fostering a safe and inclusive work environment. Responsibilities
- Restore, optimize, and ensure the reliability of engine-driven welding equipment and generators.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to contribute to a culture of safety.
- Repair and refurbish electric and engine drives.
- Assemble electric, diesel, gas, and propane equipment for rental.
- Test and calibrate machines to ensure readiness for customers.
- Repaint parts, touch up paint, and apply decals to maintain a professional appearance.
- Replace defective parts and complete essential preventative maintenance.
- Order parts as required to ensure efficient repairs.
- Inspect returned equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Operate necessary equipment to organize parts in the shop.
- Foster a clean and organized work environment.
- Prepare and complete documentation for all machine repairs.
- Occasionally provide on-site service to support equipment and customers.
- Maintain open communication with all branch personnel.
- Occasionally share expertise with customers regarding effective equipment.
- Perform field work as needed to support business goals.
- Perform other related duties as a collaborative team member.
Requirements
- High School Diploma; post-secondary education equivalent to a one-year technical college is an asset.
- 0-1 years of related technical experience.
- Working knowledge of power generating and welding equipment is an asset.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
- Attention to detail and solid organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures.
- Ability to act proactively or find solutions to work-related problems.
- Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying expectations.
- Ability to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities.

Additional Information
- Work schedule is Monday - Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
