Job Description

Overview

The Repair Welder position involves performing complex welding tasks using various welding processes while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The role requires interpreting engineering drawings and working independently to meet production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex welding tasks using wire feed gun, stick welding, and TIG welding processes.
  • Responsible for layout, fit up, and fabrication of complex structural forms.
  • Accurately interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Fabricate complex jigs and fixtures to meet quality expectations.
  • Follow prescribed weld procedures accurately.
  • Operate oxygen/acetylene cutting torch safely and accurately.
  • Interpret and follow information on work routers.
  • Report technical problems to the Repair Crew Chief and assist in solving them.
  • Use safe work practices.
  • Work towards improving efficiency and achieving delivery goals.
  • Follow all applicable company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Ability to comply with required safety programs and proper use of PPE.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • High School graduate or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience welding in shop or field environment.
  • Must be able to successfully pass 6G weld bend test in FCAW, SMAW, GMAW, and TIG.
  • Experience mentoring others in layout, fit up, welding, and inspecting is a plus.
