Overview
The Welder 3 position is a skilled trade role focused on performing advanced welding tasks to fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures and components. This role requires precision and expertise in various welding techniques to ensure the integrity and quality of welded joints in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced welding operations using techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Cored Arc Welding on various metals including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and welding procedure specifications to complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Inspect welded joints for defects and perform necessary repairs or adjustments to meet quality standards and codes.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and operational guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to plan welding sequences and troubleshoot fabrication or repair challenges.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a formal welding training program or apprenticeship.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional welding experience.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and welding symbols.
- Ability to pass welding certification tests relevant to the job requirements.
