Overview

Alaska Waste, a Waste Connections company, has an immediate position available for a Welder / Fabricator in Anchorage AK. This full-time, long-term position involves welding, fabricating, and compactor repair, ideal for self-motivated individuals with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding and repair of trash/compactor containers.
• Conduct compactor repairs and trash trucks metal repair in the fleet.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OSHA standards.
• Document parts usage and account for repair times.
• Effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks and work as a team.
• Assist with roll cart delivery to local customers.

Requirements

• Experience in welding/fabricating.
• Experience in electrical and hydraulics is preferred.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to obtain a Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Additional Information

• Starting pay is $25.00 per hour depending on experience.
• Schedule is a 4-10 schedule with weekends off, from 6am to 4pm.
