Overview

Nexus Disposal is seeking an experienced Fabrication Shop Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of their fabrication shop. This position is critical in supporting fleet and container operations by managing fabrication projects, supervising staff, and ensuring high-quality repairs and builds of waste management equipment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the fabrication shop and manage shop workflow
• Supervise welders, fabricators, and shop personnel
• Coordinate fabrication, repair, and modification of roll-off containers, dumpsters, and truck components
• Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards
• Maintain inventory of fabrication materials, tools, and shop supplies
• Coordinate repair priorities with operations and dispatch teams
• Inspect completed fabrication work for quality and safety
• Enforce safety policies and maintain OSHA compliance
• Train and mentor shop staff
• Maintain shop equipment and ensure tools are in proper working condition
• Keep shop clean, organized, and operating efficiently

Requirements

• 5+ years of welding or fabrication experience
• 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in a fabrication shop
• Strong knowledge of MIG, TIG, and stick welding
• Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings
• Experience with steel fabrication and heavy equipment
• Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Knowledge of shop safety practices and OSHA regulations
