Overview

Responsibilities
- Sand, sandblast, degrease, and clean metal to ensure proper adhesion.
- Apply paints using spray guns.
- Set up and maintain painting equipment, including paint sprayers, pumps, sandblasters, and masking materials.
- Inspect finished surfaces for thickness, coverage, and defects, performing touchups as needed.
- Follow safety protocols, including wearing PPE and maintaining a clean, ventilated work area.
- Operate sandblasting or shot-blasting machinery to clean and prep parts for painting or coating.
- Set up, operate, and maintain blasting pots, hoses, nozzles, and air-fed hoods.
- Inspect parts before and after blasting to ensure proper cleaning and adherence to specifications.
- Adhere to OSHA, SSPC, and NACE regulations regarding safety and hazardous dust management.
- Follow production schedules, read work orders, and coordinate with paint or assembly departments.
Requirements
- Proficiency with industrial painting tools and knowledge of coating materials.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy equipment, and work in varied environments.
- Precision in matching colors and ensuring uniform coating thickness.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial painting role.
- Proven experience in abrasive blasting within a manufacturing, industrial, or construction setting.
- SSPC or NACE certifications are often preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a fast-paced, dusty, or noisy environment.
