Overview
We are seeking a Sheet Metal Journeyman to join our Mechanical team at KODIAK, a company dedicated to helping craft professionals build successful careers in the construction industry. This key position offers opportunities for growth and advancement while working on various commercial construction sites.
Responsibilities
- Install a variety of HVAC materials including round pipe/spiral duct, flex duct, motorized dampers, and air moving equipment.
- Install duct work and sheet metal assemblies on work site according to blueprints and specifications.
- Fabricate or alter parts using shears, hammers, punches, snips, drills, brakes, and bending rollers.
- Install support hangers and make duct connections using clips, drives, nuts, bolts, and other materials.
- Install manual dampers and make final connections to equipment.
- Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces of assembled parts using hand tools and portable power tools.
- Fasten seams and joints with bolts, cement, rivets, and caulk.
- Drill and punch holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets.
- Work from ladders, manlifts, and other equipment at various heights.
- Operate man lift, personal lift, chain hoist, and duct jack.
- Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Focus on safety and model best safety practices.
- 3 or more years of experience in the HVAC/mechanical trade installing systems on commercial or industrial construction sites.
- Experience with tools including shears, brakes, bending rolls, punch, drill press, and other hand and power tools.
- Experience leading or coaching an apprentice and/or helper.
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred.
- Ability to work from ladders and man lifts from various heights.

Additional Information
- Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week.
- Work location: In person.
- Ability to commute to Dallas-Fort Worth, TX is required.
- Relocation to Dallas-Fort Worth, TX is required before starting work.
