Job Description

Overview

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily functions as directed by work orders and/or Supervisor/Lead.
  • Set up and adjust welding equipment according to specifications.
  • Ensure parts are welded and verified to the drawing.
  • Report production and daily work utilization by scanning into RFGen.
  • Maintain accurate counts of material and scrap.
  • Produce strong penetrated welds that are non-porous and consistent.
  • Ensure fixtures are free of accumulated weld slag.
  • Perform 100% inspection on the first completed part.
  • Detect and report defective materials or conditions.
  • Keep track of company tools and equipment.
  • Clean and lubricate machines and tools.
  • Observe and act upon machine malfunction warnings.
  • Exercise quality control by comparing products to blueprints.
  • Perform quality checks on weight, size, shape, and texture.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Comply with all safety standards and company policies.
  • Report all accidents and incidents immediately.
  • Participate in lean events as directed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must pass Madix weld test; welding certification is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of welding processes and equipment.
  • Formal MIG welding training or hands-on experience in production.
  • High school diploma/GED preferred or 1 year factory/manufacturing experience.
  • Good math skills including fractions and angles.
  • Ability to read and use measuring instruments and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Must be available to work weekends and/or overtime.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to observe and learn from experienced welders.
