Overview
The Quality Inspector Level I at Stellar Energy is responsible for supporting production in various energy systems while ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulations. Stellar Energy specializes in engineering and manufacturing solutions within the energy sector, focusing on optimizing energy performance and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Visually inspects all welds to applicable code standards.
- Administers welding qualification tests for new hires and production.
- Reviews Weld Inspection Log and notifies shop supervision of errors.
- Monitors and ensures WQR and WPS are utilized and qualified.
- Verifies correct weld procedures for pipe, fittings, and structural components.
- Confirms cross hatch pattern tightening with multiple pass technique.
- Performs receiving inspections and documents results according to procedures.
- Ensures qualified personnel use measuring and testing equipment with current calibration tags.
- Witnesses procedures and documents results, issuing reports on various inspections.
- Ensures nonconforming material is quarantined or segregated.
- Checks final product dimensions for tolerances and documents results.
- Initiates nonconformance reports and communicates quality issues.
- Assists management and provides quality support as necessary.
- Prepares for ISO 9001 and other audits.
Requirements
- Visual Testing (VT) Level II certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
- Experience in industrial production manufacturing.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Certified NACE (coatings) inspector preferred.
- Fabrication/construction experience with general mechanical equipment preferred.
- Associate degree or higher preferred.
Additional Information
- This is a full-time position with hours Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for 1st shift and Monday through Thursday, 2:30 PM to 1:00 AM for 2nd shift.
- No travel is expected for this position.
