Job Description

Overview

Madix Inc. is a company that values passion and customer focus, seeking a Welder1 to perform various welding tasks while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily functions as directed by work orders and/or Supervisor/Lead.
  • Set up and adjust welding equipment according to specifications.
  • Weld parts and verify them against drawings.
  • Ensure correct raw materials are used.
  • Report production and work utilization daily.
  • Maintain accurate counts of material and scrap.
  • Produce strong, non-porous welds consistently.
  • Ensure fixtures are free of accumulated weld slag.
  • Grind or clean parts as required.
  • Conduct 100% inspection on the first completed part.
  • Check parts during production according to inspection reports.
  • Report defective materials or conditions to Supervisor/Lead.
  • Keep track of company tools and equipment.
  • Clean and lubricate machines and tools.
  • Respond to machine malfunction warnings.
  • Exercise quality control by comparing products to specifications.
  • Perform quality checks on weight, size, shape, and texture.
  • Measure work pieces for accuracy.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Comply with safety standards and company policies.
  • Report all accidents and incidents immediately.
  • Participate in lean events as directed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must pass Madix weld test; welding certification is a plus.
  • Formal MIG welding training or hands-on experience required.
  • Knowledge equivalent to 1 to 2 years of high school.
  • High school diploma/GED preferred or 1 year of manufacturing experience.
  • Good math skills including fractions and angles required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or simple drawings.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work weekends and/or overtime.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
