Overview

Howmet Aerospace is hiring a TIG Welder in Winsted, CT. The company is a leading global provider of advanced engineered solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries.

Responsibilities

• Resolve problems with porosity, lack of fusion, voids, lack of welds as they occur.
• Perform welder prep prior to welding and weld deburr.
• Perform small fabrications for gas backups.
• Operate hardness test machines.
• Ability to read, understand and follow operational sketches.
• Follow policies and procedures as outlined in Employee Handbook.
• Maintain welding certification status and perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED required.
• Basic math skills, including decimals and fractions, are required.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Welding experience preferred.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Additional Information

• Minimum starting salary is $23.00 per hour.
• 2nd shift pays an additional $2.00, and 3rd shift pays an additional $3.00.
• Ability to train on 1st shift for several months if needed.
• External hires are eligible for a $3,000 sign on bonus.
