Overview
Dorsey is a manufacturer of a full line of trailers and is the fastest-growing platform trailer manufacturer in the country. They are seeking experienced welders to join their team in Elba, Alabama, emphasizing quality in the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Measure, cut, and shape metal materials using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Perform MIG and/or Stick welding based on project requirements.
- Assemble and fit metal components to meet design specifications.
- Inspect finished welds to ensure structural soundness and quality standards.
- Operate fabrication machinery such as press brakes, shear machines, and plasma cutters.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Follow all workplace safety standards and procedures.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to complete projects on schedule.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (Technical certification in Welding preferred).
- AWS (American Welding Society) certification.
- Experience working with stainless steel, aluminum, and structural steel.
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Strong understanding of metal properties and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and squares.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.

Additional Information
- Work schedule is Monday through Friday 6:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Work location is in person.
