Responsibilities

• Welds a variety of materials using FCAW, SMAW, GMAW, and SAW techniques.
• Follows applicable welding procedures (AWS, AISC).
• Welds in all positions including ground level, above ground, and below ground.
• Prepares materials for welding by chipping, peening, and grinding.
• Welds structural, bridge, and industrial materials under close tolerances.
• Adheres to safety rules and PPE requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and/or 12 months of stable work experience.
• Must pass required weld test.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical operations.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
• Certification in AWS D1.1 weld test.
