Overview
The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) operates and maintains major toll facilities in Maryland, ensuring safe and convenient transportation. The Skilled Trade Specialist II position involves performing various skilled trades at the journeyman level, including plumbing, welding, and carpentry, primarily at the Bay Bridge.
Responsibilities
- Assist with and perform remodeling, repairs, and fabrication to buildings and offices.
- Assist with and perform plumbing repairs and installations in facility buildings.
- Fabricate, inspect, and repair various metal components as required to maintain equipment.
- Assist with and perform Management of Traffic (MOT) functions.
Requirements
- Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
- Three years of experience performing skilled trade work in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, locksmith, masonry, painting, or welding.
- Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license in the State of Maryland.
- May require a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) during the probationary period.
