Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator/Fitter to join our dynamic manufacturing and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and fitting metal components with precision and efficiency, ensuring all projects meet safety standards and quality specifications.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate components and assemblies.
- Perform MIG, TIG, FCAW, and other welding techniques to join metals according to industry standards.
- Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal parts.
- Measure materials precisely with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices to ensure proper fit and tolerances.
- Fabricate sheet metal components for ductwork, structural supports, or custom assemblies following ASME codes & standards.
- Operate rigging equipment and forklifts safely for material handling and assembly tasks on-site or in the workshop.
- Assemble fabricated parts using mechanical knowledge, schematics, and assembly instructions while adhering to safety protocols.
- Conduct pipe threading, machining, soldering, and plasma cutting as required for specific projects.
- Maintain a clean work environment by following safety guidelines related to construction site practices and manufacturing processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience working on construction sites with a strong understanding of site safety procedures.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, FCAW welding techniques; experience with additional welding is a plus.
- Ability to read complex blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and schematics for fabrication tasks.
- Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of rigging, pipe threading, machining operations, and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards relevant to welding and fabrication work.
- Strong basic math skills for measurements and calculations involved in fabrication tasks.
- Experience with plasma cutting machines, press brake machines, soldering techniques, and ductwork fabrication is desirable.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely in a manufacturing or construction environment.
