Overview

The Pipe Fitter position in Glen Burnie, MD requires experience in running piping through industrial facilities and working with various welding systems. The role involves interpreting technical drawings and coordinating the installation of valves and instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Run piping through active industrial production facilities.
  • Work with butt weld and socket weld systems up to 8" diameter steel pipe.
  • Interpret plan view and elevation view drawings.
  • Understand P&ID and coordinate installation of valves and instruments.
  • Generate isometric drawings for fabrication based on field measurements.
  • Field route piping as required by the client.
  • Work with welded, threaded, Victaulic piping, carbon, and stainless steel.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand P&ID and orthogonal drawings.
  • Ability to layout pipelines including changes in elevation, direction & flow.
  • Understanding of plans, specifications, P&IDs, and ISOs.
  • No more than 3 jobs in the past 10 years.
  • 2-5 years previous construction experience, preferably as a Mechanical Contractor or Prime Contractor in an industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with ASME codes & standards for compliance.
  • Self-starter ability to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Reliable transportation with an active driver's license.
