Overview

We're seeking a skilled Spot Weld Setup Technician to join our sheet metal fabrication team. In this role, you'll be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining spot welding equipment to ensure high-quality welds on sheet metal components while collaborating with production, engineering, and quality teams.

Responsibilities

• Set up spot welding machines according to job specifications, blueprints, and work orders.
• Select appropriate electrodes, fixtures, and welding parameters based on material type and thickness.
• Perform first-piece inspections and verify quality using measurement tools.
• Operate spot welding equipment efficiently while maintaining product quality and consistency.
• Troubleshoot and adjust weld settings to resolve quality or equipment issues.
• Document setups, maintenance activities, and production data as required.
• Work closely with team members to meet production schedules.
• Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and shop standards.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, welding, or related manufacturing operations.
• Hands-on experience with spot welding equipment and tooling.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and technical instructions.
• Familiarity with basic measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Experience with multiple welding processes (TIG, MIG, projection welding) is preferred.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing or 5S principles is preferred.
• Prior experience in a high-mix, low-volume production environment is preferred.

Additional Information

• Full time day position available.
• Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 3pm.
