Overview

The Certified Welder is responsible for fabricating component parts or assembling finished products according to customer specifications while maintaining quality standards and ensuring safety in the work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Completes work area setup.
  • Fits parts together in accordance with the prescribed manner and quality standards.
  • Operates equipment and tools as required to complete the assembly process.
  • Prevents and controls waste of raw material.
  • Conducts quality inspections to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Ensures work area is safe, clean, and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
  • Completes pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Provides basic TPM to equipment and completes TPM paperwork when required.
  • Maintains production records as required.
  • Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
  • Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience assembling components or specialty products is required; 1 year of experience or more is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic math.
  • May have certification in area of expertise including welding.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
