Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fitter to join our team. This role involves performing precise welding and fitting tasks on various metal components, primarily within construction, fabrication, and industrial settings.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding and fitting requirements.
  • Perform MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), FCAW, and other welding techniques to join metal components according to specifications.
  • Fabricate and assemble metal structures, ductwork, piping, and sheet metal components using various tools and equipment.
  • Measure materials with precision tools to ensure accurate cuts and fits.
  • Operate rigging equipment such as cranes and forklifts for lifting heavy materials safely.
  • Use basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality control checks.
  • Follow safety protocols adhering to ASME codes & standards and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Assist in troubleshooting fabrication issues and recommend improvements for efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction site work or manufacturing environments involving welding and fitting.
  • Proficiency in MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), FCAW welding processes.
  • Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
  • Familiarity with rigging operations including crane handling and forklift operation.
  • Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations.
  • Experience working with sheet metal, ductwork, piping systems, or structural steel is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ASME codes & standards applicable to welding and fabrication projects is advantageous.
