Overview

The Welder position at Steffes involves operating various welding and hand tools during the day shift from 6:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, with potential mandatory overtime. Responsibilities

• Operate various types of welding tools and hand tools.
• Read drawings, blueprints, and heat numbers.
• Follow standard work, training guides, weld procedures, and acceptance criteria.
• May operate basic robots, including loading and unloading parts.
• Perform basic problem solving and decision making.
• Follow build boards and Kanban system requirements.
• Report inconsistencies and defects in material, product, or equipment.
• Make adjustments to various fab parts for proper alignment.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere through collaboration.
• Help the company meet its Strategic, Quality, and Safety objectives.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Combination of welding certification(s) and/or experience preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet).
• Basic reading skills for instructional and technical information.
• Ability to lift 70 pounds from floor to waist and carry 50 pounds.
• Ability to push and/or pull up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to learn new tasks and maintain focus.
• Visual acuity required to inspect completed work.

Additional Information

• Shift Time: 6:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday.
• Fridays may require mandatory overtime depending on production needs.
