Overview

The Weekend Welder position at Mazzella involves performing various welding functions and using different types of welding equipment. The company emphasizes a team-oriented environment and prioritizes employee well-being and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and detail drawings.
  • Maintain, repair, rebuild, and fabricate parts for industrial equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and diagnose equipment problems.
  • Perform MIG, arc, and TIG welding, layout, and pipefitting functions.
  • Examine welds for bead size and specifications.
  • Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes.
  • Position and clamp workpieces together or assemble them in jigs or fixtures.
  • Select torch, torch tip, filler rod, and flux according to specifications.
  • Tack assemblies together and chip off excess weld, slag, and spatter.
  • Clean or de-grease parts.
  • Perform maintenance and repair on all equipment used in welding.
  • Move parts in and finished products out of the welding area.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; military experience or trade/technical school preferred.
  • Certified Welder required.
  • Must obtain D14.1 certification at a G1-G4 position within 30 days after hire.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a metal fabrication environment or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Possess knowledge of applicable manufacturers and industry standards (CMAA, HMI, ANSI, OSHA).
  • Must be able to lift or pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and planning skills required.
  • Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) required.
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and disciplined with the ability to multi-task.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen, and E-verify.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
