Overview

The Welding Coordinator in the Silencer Division is responsible for coordinating and scheduling the daily workload to ensure timely production and shipping. The role requires competency in using potentially dangerous equipment while adhering to safety precautions and demands attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule the daily workload in the silencer line department.
  • Oversee employees in the department.
  • Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
  • Determine the appropriate equipment or method based on requirements to perform the task.
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications.
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions.
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws.
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare and clean the parts.
  • Align components using calipers, rulers, etc., and clamp pieces.
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-year related experience or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a welder.
  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MIG, etc.).
  • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, shears, rolls, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing.
  • Utilize office equipment such as photocopiers, printers, and computers for word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Attention to detail.

Additional Information

  • This is a working manufacturing and production facility, which is hot, dusty, and loud.
  • Caution and attention to surroundings are necessary for safety.
  • Travel is less than 5% per year.
