The Tooling and Metal Fabricator II position involves fabrication, installation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment, contributing to the sustainability of water resources.
Responsibilities
- Continuously maintains safety and professional standards.
- Promotes a positive safety culture and ensures safety policies are followed.
- Fabricates and assembles equipment using various techniques.
- Reads and interprets blueprints and drawings.
- Plans setup and operates machine shop tools.
- Determines needs and orders materials for fabrication.
- Repairs equipment using welding techniques.
- Helps fabricate hydraulic and pneumatic circuits.
- Troubleshoots mechanical and operational problems.
- Plans setup and operates machine shop tools.
- Performs repair, rebuilding, or overhaul work from blueprints.
- Works as a member of mechanical/construction teams.
- Communicates with engineers and product designers.
- Assists in writing Standard Operating Procedures.
- Cleans manufacturing equipment as needed.
- Maintains regular attendance during manufacturing business hours.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of welding experience.
- One year of experience reading blueprints.
- Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams.
- Knowledge to operate machinery and testing equipment.
- Ability to make high quality welds using electric and gas systems.
- Ability to use cutting torch and measuring devices.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Must have a satisfactory driving record and valid driver's license.
Additional Information
- Work may include occasional early and/or later shifts.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
- Regular job duties require lifting up to 50 lbs frequently.
