Overview

SSI Shredding Systems, Inc. is a leader in designing and manufacturing innovative recycling equipment with installations in over 65 countries. The Welder/Fabricator III position requires a certified welder with five years of experience in welding plate, tube, and structural steel, along with a strong knowledge of blueprints and metal weld heat ratings.

Responsibilities

• Cleans steel before fabrication of parts.
• Fabricates components per print.
• Checks and verifies the quality, size, and spacing of all final welds.
• Cleans slag, weld splatter, tack and bracing.
• Maintains quality of work and housekeeping to meet SSI standards.

Requirements

• Certified welder or able to pass certification test.
• Five years of welding experience with plate, tube, and structural steel.
• Strong working knowledge of blueprints and routers.
• Experience in welding large steel parts used in machinery manufacturing.
• Ability to safely operate bridge and jib cranes and forklifts.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and up to 15 pounds above shoulder height frequently.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
