Overview

The City of Cincinnati is seeking a Welder to perform welding on various metals for the repair and maintenance of plant machinery, automotive equipment, and pipelines. This role requires general supervision and involves related duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Weld a variety of metals in the repair and maintenance of plant machinery and installations.
• Perform welding on automotive equipment.
• Conduct in-place welding of pipelines and fittings.
• Perform related duties as required.

Requirements

• Two years of experience as a Welder Helper with the City of Cincinnati for promotional applicants.
• Two years of experience as a full-time Welder in the last five years or completion of a vocational or technical welding program for open applicants.
• Commercial Driver's License – Class A required before the end of the probationary period.
• Knowledge of basic welding processes, materials, and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work under various conditions.
