Overview

The Metal Fabricator will set up and operate machines to cut, punch, machine, bend, insert, weld, and prepare metal components. This role requires a commitment to quality, safety, and productivity in a potentially loud and hazardous work environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and operate fabrication equipment such as lasers, punches, mills, brakes, insertion, spot welder, saw, and laser welder.
• Complete quality checks on completed work to verify it conforms to specifications.
• Observe machine operation to detect machine malfunction and/or work defects.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical operations.
• General basic skills of navigation, Microsoft Word, Excel, Email, and company software.

Additional Information

• Day shift with Fridays off at 11am.
• Relocation to Brookings, SD 57006 is required before starting work.
• Work location is in person.
