Overview

The Production Welding Technician role at Blueprint Fabrication involves translating blueprints into durable metal products through precise welding. The technician will operate various welding machines and ensure that all parts meet strict quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate an overhead crane to set parts and subassemblies in place before welding.
• Dial in the right machine settings for every job to achieve proper penetration and bead profile.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions and finish work using grinders, wire wheels, and needle guns.
• Use measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances match the print.
• Interpret blueprints and follow both written and verbal work instructions.
• Fit, position, secure, and assemble components prior to welding.
• Shift between product lines and cross-train to support production needs.
• Keep a spotless, safe workstation and uphold 6S standards.
• Collaborate with teammates while also delivering independently.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Requirements

• Pass and maintain the Welder Qualification Test.
• Comfort wearing a standard welding helmet for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work overtime, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet production demands.
• Reliable, on-site presence.
• Welding certification from an accredited institution (nice-to-have).
• 1+ year of welding experience in a manufacturing environment (nice-to-have).
