Overview

The Welder role involves preparing surfaces for welding, fitting parts, and welding piping and manifolds according to blueprint specifications. Candidates should have experience with TIG or MIG welding and be able to work with carbon steel structural shapes.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surfaces to be welded and fits parts.
• Welds piping and manifolds.
• Cuts, grinds, drills holes, and welds steel to blueprint specifications.
• May use plasma cutter to cut I-beams and steel plates.
• Tack welds scrap metal to outline to provide jig for assembly.
• Positions parts in jig and files, chisels, and grinds parts as indicated.
• Anneals parts with acetylene torch to remove stresses of welding.

Requirements

• Requires 2-4 years of TIG or MIG welding experience.
• Must be able to weld carbon steel structural shapes and skid frames and chassis.
• Must be able to weld from all angles and positions.
• Possess mechanical aptitude.
• Able to lift 50+ lbs.
• Ability to stoop, crouch, bend, climb, and kneel.
