Overview

Bowhead seeks a Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our Manufacturing and Products Group team in Plano, TX. The ideal candidate will have strong fabrication and welding experience, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and a commitment to quality and safety in a low volume, high mix manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust fabrication equipment including press brakes, laser cutter, slip rollers, band saws, and drill presses.
• Program and operate press brakes and rollers as required.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and finish/welding symbols to fabricate parts accurately.
• Perform welding and fabrication operations to meet company and customer specifications.
• Ensure all fabricated products meet company, customer, and industry quality standards.
• Follow Quality Management System (QMS) procedures, including proper documentation and process compliance.
• Maintain workflow in alignment with the production schedule and delivery timelines.
• Perform accurate material layouts, measurements, and calculations.
• Communicate project progress and any issues to management.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required, technical certification a plus.
• Minimum three to five (3–5) years of experience in custom sheet metal manufacturing.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Solid understanding of GD&T principles.
• Proven welding (Mig/Tig) and fabrication experience.
• Experience setting up and programming press brakes and rollers.
• High attention to detail and strong quality focus.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
• Ability to multitask and problem-solve in a production environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
