Overview

Turner Industries is a fully diversified industrial contractor headquartered in Baton Rouge, LA, with over 20,000 employees across the United States. They are seeking a Pipe Welder for a position in Kingsport, TN, responsible for laying out, fitting, and welding various components to assemble structural forms.

Responsibilities

• Lays out, fits, and welds fabricated, cast, and forged components.
• Assembles structural forms such as tanks, pressure vessels, and pipe.
• Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding.
• Positions, aligns, and fits components together.
• Bolts, clamps, and tacks parts to secure them for welding.
• Sets up equipment and welds parts.
• May assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
• May weld various materials including carbon steel and stainless steel.
• May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
• May use a cutting torch to cut materials and demo existing assemblies.
• Performs additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum four (4) years of experience in welding.
• Must be able to pass a weld test before being hired.
• Must be certified as a welder.
• Must pass a post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others.

Additional Information

• Position is non-exempt and reports to the Foreman.
• Employee may be required to climb ladders and scaffolds, lift 30-50 lbs, and follow safety procedures.
