Overview

Gravitics is building the infrastructure for a thriving space economy, designing and manufacturing large-scale orbital structures for commercial and defense missions. They seek a motivated Senior Technician experienced in fabricating and assembling large structures to contribute to their innovative team.

Responsibilities

• Cut, form, and weld both steel and aluminum from engineering drawings and instructions.
• Provide feedback on designs and manufacturing methods.
• Use precision calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and follow detailed work instructions.
• Operate cranes, forklifts, and other heavy equipment.
• Operate manufacturing equipment such as water jets and CNC mills.
• Help create a next generation manufacturing center for very large space systems.
• Help implement and maintain systems for safety, compliance, and industry best practices.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Own processes and operations on the shop floor.
• Resolve issues independently or with engineering as required.
• Follow OSHA safety standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• Hands-on experience welding with MIG/TIG/Laser systems for both steel and aluminum.
• Experience leading or coaching teams.
• Ability to work daily with large metal assemblies on site.
• Commitment to safety and pride in work.
• 5+ years in a fabrication/manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to learn new tools and processes.
• Ability to maintain equipment per manuals/instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, sit, and stand for extended periods.
