Overview
Gravitics is building the infrastructure for a thriving space economy, designing and manufacturing large-scale orbital structures for commercial and defense missions. They seek a motivated Senior Technician experienced in fabricating and assembling large structures to contribute to their innovative team.
Responsibilities
- Cut, form, and weld both steel and aluminum from engineering drawings and instructions.
- Provide feedback on designs and manufacturing methods.
- Use precision calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and follow detailed work instructions.
- Operate cranes, forklifts, and other heavy equipment.
- Operate manufacturing equipment such as water jets and CNC mills.
- Help create a next generation manufacturing center for very large space systems.
- Help implement and maintain systems for safety, compliance, and industry best practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Own processes and operations on the shop floor.
- Resolve issues independently or with engineering as required.
- Follow OSHA safety standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- Hands-on experience welding with MIG/TIG/Laser systems for both steel and aluminum.
- Experience leading or coaching teams.
- Ability to work daily with large metal assemblies on site.
- Commitment to safety and pride in work.
- 5+ years in a fabrication/manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to learn new tools and processes.
- Ability to maintain equipment per manuals/instructions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, sit, and stand for extended periods.
