Overview

Join us in supporting a Seattle WA Shipyard with your experience and expertise! This role requires proactive and detail-oriented professionals to engage in Pipe Fitting/Welding tasks, ensuring excellence in every aspect of the job.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision pipe welding tasks to ensure leak-free welds in marine environments.
• Torch cut, clean, and true pipes for optimal fit and function according to NAVSEA standards.
• Assess job sites, particularly those with combustible materials, ensuring safety for all personnel engaged in hot work activities.
• Read and interpret weld symbols, blueprints, schematics, and job specifications.
• Certify to Navy/ABS standards by passing required vision tests and demonstrating proficiency in pipe welding in the 6GR position.
• Conduct x-ray testing to verify the integrity of welds.
• Perform basic pipefitting and brazing tasks as required.
• Participate in system upgrades and routine maintenance.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with proof.
• Must be able to obtain a 'DBIDS' Badge.
• Maritime OSHA 10 certification required.
• Previous shipyard experience required.
• Ability to work 40-70 hours per week.
• Expertise in TIG welding and understanding of various welding rods.
• Ability to pass Navy/ABS certification tests, including vision and welding in 6GR position.
• Strong ability to work from blueprints, schematics, and specifications according to NAVSEA standards.
• Experience with x-ray testing of welds.

Additional Information

• Contract duration starts mid April/May and goes for 3+ months.
• Diverse shifts include 8-hour, 10-hour, and 12-hour shifts.
• Monday through Friday with overtime, and weekends as requested by the client.
