Overview
L&T Construction is seeking a pipefitter to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related equipment for the oil and gas industry. The role requires effective communication and the ability to build strong relationships with customers while ensuring quality work and project compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related equipment.
- Communicate effectively with customers, managers, and workers.
- Build strong relationships with customer representatives.
- Lead by example and make decisions in the field.
- Coordinate and manage multiple employees and crews for each job.
- Perform administrative duties including timesheets, production reports, and schedules.
- Ensure safe and efficient use of workers, equipment, and materials.
- Coordinate assigned work with other companies, trades, and contractors.
- Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipelines.
Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent educational experience.
- Vocational school or trade apprenticeship required.
- 5 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Able to read and comprehend P&ID’s and Iso’s.
- Skilled at drawing iso’s and redline as-builts.
- Must work under API 1104 standards and customer standards.
- Highly skilled with rolling offsets, degrees, pipe threading, welding, and tubing techniques.
- Must be able to pull elevations from top of pipe utilizing a sight level and/or transit.
- Experience with equipment and rigging for unloading and positioning pipe.
