Overview

Steel Craft Technologies (SCT) is looking to add Welder/Fabricators to their day shift team at the Grand Rapids, MI facility and the Belmont, MI facility. This position requires thorough knowledge of fabrication practices and welding procedures, with experience in thick plate weldments being a plus.

Responsibilities

• Comprehend and follow blueprints in accordance with required specifications.
• Plan and layout raw material, plates, angles, channels, tubing, pipe, etc. in accordance with specifications.
• Perform rigging, lifting and moving of product using cranes, forklifts, etc.
• Operate an assortment of fabrication machinery or equipment, i.e. drill press, drills, hand grinders, hand plasma cutter, etc.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience is ideal for experienced candidates; entry level candidates should have some basic knowledge of welding/fabrication.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to use a computer to read and understand prints.
• Must be motivated and work well by yourself and as a team.
• Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time on cement surface and will be required to regularly bend, stretch, stoop, squat, climb ladders and perform work in confined positions.

• Full time- first shift. 7 am to 5 pm.
