Overview
The Welder/Sheet Metal Fabricator position involves ensuring safety policies are upheld, resolving worker issues, driving continuous improvement, planning work schedules, inspecting materials, and assisting in fabrication processes. The role requires a combination of education, training, and experience in a fabrication environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
- Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts and projects.
- Plan and establish work schedules and production sequences.
- Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of employees in fabrication.
- Requisition materials, supplies, or repair services.
- Maintain acceptable housekeeping practices.
- Assist in the fabrication of all products, including welding.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- At least five years of directly related experience in a Fabrication Shop.
- Minimum 2 years in a metal fabrication environment.
- Knowledge of working with metal to produce finished products.
- Working knowledge of typical fabrication shop equipment.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to lead in a fast-paced environment.
- Physically capable of performing the work, able to lift up to 75 lbs.
- HVAC knowledge is a plus but not required.
