Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator to join our team. The individual will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and repair of metal structures and components using welding equipment and a variety of tools.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Prepare materials, set up welding equipment, and perform welds in vertical and overhead positions according to project specifications.
  • Operate manual and/or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and install metal structures and components.
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.
  • Utilize cutting, shaping, and measuring tools to prepare materials.
  • Maintain welding equipment and perform routine maintenance as needed.
  • Follow safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Collaborate with other team members to meet project deadlines and deliverables.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Awareness of general and workplace safety practices related to welding and fabrication.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a welder and/or fabricator (typically 2+ years).
  • Experience working with a variety of welding methods and metals (e.g., steel, aluminum, stainless steel).
  • Ability to pass a welding skills assessment or certification test, if required.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials (in accordance with safety guidelines).
  • Vocational or technical training in welding or fabrication.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Welder).
  • Experience using CNC machinery, plasma cutters, or other advanced fabrication tools.
  • Familiarity with automated welding systems.
  • Valid forklift operator certification.
