Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator to join our team. The individual will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and repair of metal structures and components using welding equipment and a variety of tools.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Prepare materials, set up welding equipment, and perform welds in vertical and overhead positions according to project specifications.
- Operate manual and/or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments.
- Fabricate, assemble, and install metal structures and components.
- Conduct quality inspections to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.
- Utilize cutting, shaping, and measuring tools to prepare materials.
- Maintain welding equipment and perform routine maintenance as needed.
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Collaborate with other team members to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
Requirements
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding techniques.
- Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Awareness of general and workplace safety practices related to welding and fabrication.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a welder and/or fabricator (typically 2+ years).
- Experience working with a variety of welding methods and metals (e.g., steel, aluminum, stainless steel).
- Ability to pass a welding skills assessment or certification test, if required.
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials (in accordance with safety guidelines).
- Vocational or technical training in welding or fabrication.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Welder).
- Experience using CNC machinery, plasma cutters, or other advanced fabrication tools.
- Familiarity with automated welding systems.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
