Overview
MasTec Industrial, a leading power contractor, specializes in natural gas, oil, biomass, and waste-to-energy projects, providing EPC services and project development expertise since 1947. The Pipefitter Helper IV role involves assisting journeyman in the installation, testing, and repair of construction-related systems and components while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Assist journeyman in planning, layout, installation, testing, and repair of construction-related systems.
- Read and interpret measuring tools for accurate task performance.
- Perform tasks including threading, beveling, and cutting pipe.
- Use hand and power tools to fit and install various types of pipe.
- Install valves, couplings, and other fittings as needed.
- Produce quality work that meets plans and industry standards.
- Interact with installation crews for material and equipment movement.
- Perform daily safety checks on equipment.
- Work in other crafts as requested by project supervision.
- Communicate with Foreman about problems, materials, or hazards.
- Work different shifts and overtime as required.
- Maintain accuracy under production schedule pressure.
Requirements
- 3-4 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High School Diploma or GED Certification preferred.
- Experience in construction craft roles as a helper or laborer.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs.
- Ability to participate in daily toolbox meetings.
- Proficient in one or more craft areas.
- Ability to compute basic numbers and read scales.
- Ability to work well under pressure and within timelines.
- Developing knowledge in fabrication, installation, or maintenance of construction components.

Additional Information
- Full-Time position scheduled for typically 50 hours per week.
- Travel required up to 90%.
