Responsibilities
- Assist experienced welders with preparation, setup, and cleanup of welding equipment and work areas.
- Learn and perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding techniques under supervision.
- Support fabrication activities including sheet metal work, pipe threading and assembly.
- Use hand tools, power tools and blueprint reading to interpret project specifications.
- Conduct basic math calculations for measurements and material estimations.
- Follow safety protocols aligned with ASME codes & standards to ensure a secure working environment.
Requirements
- Prior construction site experience or familiarity with construction environments is preferred.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of schematics are advantageous.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools and machining equipment safely.
- Strong interest in welding techniques such as MIG welding.
- Competency in reading blueprints and schematics for fabrication and assembly projects.
- Good communication skills with the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to pipe threading, welding, cutting and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Reliable transportation.
- Valid driver's license.
