Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Welding Trainee and embark on an exciting journey into the world of fabrication and metalwork! This paid training position offers a unique opportunity to develop essential welding skills, gain hands-on experience on construction sites, and learn from industry professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist experienced welders with preparation, setup, and cleanup of welding equipment and work areas.
  • Learn and perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding techniques under supervision.
  • Support fabrication activities including sheet metal work, pipe threading and assembly.
  • Use hand tools, power tools and blueprint reading to interpret project specifications.
  • Conduct basic math calculations for measurements and material estimations.
  • Follow safety protocols aligned with ASME codes & standards to ensure a secure working environment.

Requirements

  • Prior construction site experience or familiarity with construction environments is preferred.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of schematics are advantageous.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools and machining equipment safely.
  • Strong interest in welding techniques such as MIG welding.
  • Competency in reading blueprints and schematics for fabrication and assembly projects.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
  • Willingness to learn new skills related to pipe threading, welding, cutting and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Valid driver's license.
