Overview
Peabody Engineering LLC is an innovative and diverse company that manufactures molded-plastic liquid storage tanks and related products. The Welder/Fabrication Technician is responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication work using various techniques, requiring the ability to interpret technical drawings and maintain welding equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Execute welding operations on mold components and fabricated parts using MIG, TIG, and arc welding techniques.
- Weld various materials, including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Interpret blueprints and technical specifications to determine appropriate welding methods and requirements.
- Set up, calibrate, and operate welding equipment to ensure precision and efficiency.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on tooling and welding equipment; report malfunctions as needed.
- Inspect completed welds to verify conformance with quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including labor hours and material usage.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address design or fabrication challenges.
- Support the training and development of new team members on welding techniques and safety practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; formal welding certification preferred.
- Demonstrated welding experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proficiency in multiple welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Working knowledge of welding materials, equipment, and safety procedures.
- High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality workmanship.
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
