Overview

Weyerhaeuser is seeking skilled Millwrights/Industrial Mechanics with a thorough knowledge of mechanical equipment to repair, modify, and maintain high-tech lumber manufacturing equipment at their facility in Bruce, MS. Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on heavy equipment and industrial machinery used in a lumber manufacturing environment.
• Apply mechanical repair principles and procedures to ensure machinery functions properly.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical power transmissions and Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems.
• Install bearings, couplings, belts, sprockets, and drive chains.
• Understand and utilize the basic principles of cylinder repair, metal fabrication, and welding.
• Provide assistance to other team members to ensure assigned tasks are performed safely.
• Support the mill and Lead Team with nonroutine maintenance and upgrade projects.
• Effectively communicate with maintenance personnel and Lead Team to plan and perform maintenance safely and efficiently.

Requirements

• Ability to work safely and follow all Company safety policies and procedures.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of industrial maintenance experience or a technical certificate in mechanical maintenance.
• Ability to read equipment manuals, blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
• Ability to understand, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical power transmissions, Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems.
• Demonstrate logical problem-solving skills and commit to follow all mechanical/maintenance practices.
• Willing to fully cross-train in other technical areas.
• Ability to work with computerized maintenance systems.
• Excellent teamwork, cooperation, collaboration, and deductive-reasoning skills.
• Dedicated, self-motivated team member, willing to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Willing to work all shifts, weekends, call-ins, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Able to work in extreme temperatures and in dusty and noisy conditions while wearing safety equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Able to complete forklift training and all other job-specific and safety training.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is preferred.
• Prior knowledge of fire protection systems is preferred.
• Wood product experience is a plus.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.
• Successful completion of pre-employment computer-based testing.
