Job Description

Overview

Chem-Aqua, a subsidiary of NCH Corporation, is seeking a Chem-Aqua Welder for their Macon, GA plant. Responsibilities

  • Setup and weld skids of various sizes and metal alloys for water treatment equipment.
  • Setup and weld stainless steel pipe using TIG and purging techniques.
  • Operate CNC plasma table to cut steel panels for skids.
  • Weld special injection fittings and floor stands.
  • Use plasma cutter, power saw, band, grinder, and brake press to shape metal to specifications.
  • Manually lift materials up to 40 pounds or use a forklift for heavier loads.
  • Assemble pretreatment and chemical feed systems according to engineering drawings.
  • Interconnect systems using SCH 80 PVC pipe and galvanized/stainless steel pipes.
  • Connect electrical control systems using basic wiring techniques.
  • Program microprocessor-based pretreatment and chemical feed equipment.
  • Package assembled equipment for shipment.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Technicians to enhance productivity.
  • Maintain clean work areas and adhere to safety policies.

Requirements

  • Welding certificate from a technical school.
  • Three years of welding experience.
  • Ability to weld using Stick, MIG, and TIG.
  • Ability to purge weld stainless steel pipe using TIG.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and use calipers.
  • Ability to read and fabricate from working drawings.
  • Ability to perform simple shop math.
  • Physical strength to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Good visual ability for close-up observations.
  • Good depth perception and color distinction.
  • Hearing sufficient to hear verbal and audible signals.
  • Conditioned to work in a temperature range of 55oF – 100oF.
  • Reading ability to understand technical manuals and drawings.
  • Writing ability to compose correspondence and instructions.
  • Good communication skills for teamwork and public interaction.
