Overview

The Welder/Fitter position in Pensacola, FL, is a full-time role that involves reading blueprints, sourcing materials, and welding metal components to specifications. The role requires both independent and team work, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Reading and understanding blueprints prior to starting a project
• Sourcing the materials to be used for a project
• Measuring and cutting materials, specifically metal, to specifications
• Welding materials using the correct materials to join the metals together and according to plan
• Checking finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints
• Interacting with a Certified Welding Inspector
• Working solo or in a team setting

Requirements

• Knowledge of welding tools and equipment
• Must be able to pass flux core and hard wire tests for steel
• Able to lift 50 pounds or more frequently
• Experience with stainless and mild steel
• Knowledge of safety standards and ability to use protective clothing including face shields, gloves, steel toed boots, etc.
• Must be dependable and able to work occasional overtime as needed
• Ability to work in a fabrication shop setting with some exposure to the elements
• Ability to understand oral and written instructions of a technical nature
