Overview
Step into a day restoring power-generation components by reviewing blueprints and technical specifications, planning sequences, and performing precision repairs. The role involves grinding and blending welds and surfaces to meet OEM and customer standards, along with high-precision TIG weld repairs on turbine and generator components.
Responsibilities
- Repair and manufacture turbine/generator parts with an emphasis on TIG welding.
- Grind, blend, and finish welds and surfaces to OEM/customer satisfaction.
- Disassemble and reassemble turbine/generator components.
- Inspect parts and components using precision measurement equipment.
- Prepare and blend parts, including media blasting.
- Coordinate daily priorities with job site managers.
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely and efficiently.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of relevant experience (preferred).
- Background in the Power Generation industry (preferred).
- Willingness to work significant mandatory overtime during peak periods.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection methods.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
- Demonstrated skill performing precision welds on thin or delicate parts with minimal distortion.
- Capability to set up and operate welding equipment independently.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to anticipate changes impacting your work area and adapt plans accordingly.
- Organizational strengths that drive efficient workflows and on-time results.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods and to bend, reach, and lift frequently.
- Commitment to following customer and ARMS safety guidelines.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred.
- Ability to pass drug test and background check.
- High School diploma or GED.
